Lefty Has Strange Thoughts

Just some strange, sometimes stupid things that Lefty has going through his head:

+ Is there REALLY a need for pre-made peanut butter & jelly sandwiches now found in the frozen section of your local supermarket chain?

+ How easy would it be to exert our collective bloggin power (and some comic convention booze) to get Mike Sterling to make an appearance in a Swamp Thing comic book? We must work on this.

+ Next time you pass by someone and they give you that little head-bob acknowledgment....just stick your tongue out at them. Do that all day and see what happens.

+ Whatever happened to Christian music artist and autuer Steve Taylor?

+ Should I go see Audra MacDonald perform here in Fresno just because Tosy & Cosh loves her and now has me intrigued?

+ Is it really new TV season already? Man I'm so not ready to watch any new TV shows, let alone set the HDD up to record 'em.

+ Roger Green named checked Moby the other day. Sometimes Roger just blows my mind with his musical knowledge. Next he'll be posting about obscure Qwalli musicians and my mind will explode.

+ Comic book team-ups I, and probably only me, would want to see: Silver Surfer and Deadpool, Power Pack and the Teen Titans, Cloak & Dagger and Hawk & Dove, Detective Chimp and Green Lantern (Hal Jordan)

+ Can I go a whole year without driving in a car, using only public transportation or a bike?

+ Somewhere out there in the world is probably a group of people who are hopeless devoted to every minutae of the band T'Pau. Thats mostly sad, but juuuuuust a tiny bit cool just for their specialization.

Considering their is no longer a Swamp Thing comic book, that might be a bit more difficult than you imagine.

And it depends on where you live. When I lived in Portland I could have, but here in AZ, no way. The public transportation system stinks, and there's something else ... what is it ... oh yeah, I don't want to die waiting for a bus in the summer.

OK, mock the premade pb&j's if you will, but they're darn good. I think they're supposed to be eaten thawed, but we like them frozen.

I just caught something on Bravo recently that featured Audra MacDonald (along with Mandy Patinkin - my reason for watching). I think it was at least 7 or 8 years old, but was blown away by her again. She is amazing.

Yes, you should. Especially since her new album is all about (well, mostly about) the pop more than the musical theater. Come on, she might do Bein' Green, for crying out loud! Or a Neil Young tune!! Or that stunning bit of songwriting, Costello and Bacharach's "God Give Me Strength!" Go!!!

Sam - was probably a Leonard Bernstein tribute - they did a CD highlighting his "NY" stuff, that featued Patinkin and McDonald heavily.

"Just a little bit of heart and soul!"

In order:
since I don't love peanut butter, can't say, but it DOES seem bizarre
I thought MS was Swamp Thing
I'd rather not
Don't know - this piece ends 5 years ago: http://www.renc.igs.net/~adt/qrstuv/bio.html
I've thought to see McDonald in Schenectady next month, partially because of Tosy
I'm ready for Gilmore Girls, and shows with 30 and 60 in the title.
I had the chance to see Moby for FREE, before Play, and I didn't, much to my regret. I hope your head doesn't explode.
You're probably right.
I do.
Sometimes, you're just...weird.

Roger - I saw my "other" favorite musical theater performer, Mandy Patinkin, in Schenectady years ago. What can I say but go! go! go!

Bingo, T & C (can I call you T & C?) - that was it exactly. How I'd forget it was Bernstein is beyond me - I keep looking for it again to TIVO. Such a good show. I'll have to look up Audra's new CD.

T&C works. ;) If you liked the special, there is a CD that was put out as well - Leonard Bernstein's New York. Some good stuff.

There is a need...because somepeople are *that* lazy.

I usually grab them. This usually leads to a night in jail.
