Yet another post about Lefty's iPhone
So I haven't been able to set up my visual voicemail on my iPhone. Yesterday I stopped by my local AT&T to check if they could help me out. After a brief exchange with a "customer support" person that had me losing my cool over her flippant response, I discovered why my visual voicemail had been set-up.
It seems that I was able to unlock my iPhone and sign up for a phone plan but iTunes did not register the data plan. The result is that every time I check my email, downloaded albums from iTunes, updated Twitter, or opened up the Safari browser I incurred a data charge...to the tune of $350 in a little over a week!
Yeah, so after picking up my jaw off the floor I was notified that the local AT&T store couldn't not issue a credit for Apple's iTunes mistake. Thankfully I was chatting with the store's customer support on the phone had some sort of work around. Since my service is so new, I don't actually have a bill yet for this month, so I have to call AT&T after my bill arrives and talk to customer support to let them know "so & so" put a note on my account that AT&T will issue a credit to my account.
I am still a little worried that there may be a problem when I call in, because I know how one hand not always works in perfect partnership with the other...but I now have the data plan in place in addition to 1000 text message a month I doubt I'll ever use up unless I twitter about every little minutiae.
Oh, and I still haven't been able to get my visual voicemail correctly set-up.

Maybe "ipissed" should be the new add slogan for the iphone and its AT&T network support.
Seriously, I hope all works out well.

hey, you say you've got a 1000 text a month plan for the iphone? are you sure? when i signed up they only had 200, which i'm constantly over.

They had the 200 which I also thought I'd go over, and then the customer support said for $10 a month they had a 1000, and for $20 a month they had Unlimited.
