Martian Manhunter R.I.P.?

fnlcr_rq_cv1_solicit.jpg

The DC Previews just came out and there's a special issue coming out in July called Final Crisis Requiem. The solicitation mentions a superhero dying. I'll go on the record now that the fire image on the cover leads me to believe that Martian Manhunter may be taking the dirt nap and eating his Oreos with Barry Allen.

i have no idea what you're talking about here, but god i love that picture.

Martian Manhunter? Isn't that the one that was about two feet tall, wore the helmet of a Roman soldier, and said something like, "You're getting me very very angry!" And, oh yeah, didn't he chase Bugs Bunny or Daffy Duck or somebody like that around?

:-)

This is why I've pretty much given up on all mainstream DC superhero comics, it's like a killing field over there -- they just slaughter characters left and right and then they're back a few years later anyway. It's no substitute for storytelling I think.

John Ostrander's Martian Manhunter series a few years back was the best use I've ever seen of the character, great stuff.
