Lefty's Friday Three Questions for April 18th

Only 20 minutes left before the weekend, and I'm spending them coming up with Three Questions:

1. Has there been a CD you bought without knowing anything about the band, and ended up really loving it?

2. What live action Disney movie is your favorite?

3. Do you own multiple versions of an album? If so, who is it, and why?

Comments

1. Lots of times because I trust my musical gurus tastes. My favorite blind purchase was suggested by Ed Stewart and it was for Derek Webb's Mockingbird.

2. Tough one. At the moment it's The Black Hole, because that and Escape From Witch Mountain I currently have an itch to watch. But let's not forget the classic version of Freaky Friday.

3. No, if I do get another edition it's because it has extras, and then I give my original away to someone who doesn't have it.

1. i don't think i've ever bought anything truly blind like that. i've definitely bought cd's at shows, where i just saw the band and was blown away, but i don't think i've got something without at least checking it out.

2. live disney? not sure.

3. yeah, i think i've got three. one is beastie boy's paul boutique, but that's because i had it on cd and then got the vinyl. same for battle of los angeles by rage against the machine. the third is metallica's master of puppets. i had it on cd, didn't realize it, and then bought it on itunes.

1. Actually, I bought a CD a few weeks ago by Micah Dalton simply because we'd eaten lunch together for a few days and I really liked him as a person. Turns out, he's a pretty unbelievable artist and his CD is one of my new faves.

2. Hands down, The Parent Trap. The original one. Followed closely by any other of Hayley Mills movies for them.

3. I think I still have five different copies of Phantom of the Opera from my high school era obsession. Full show, highlights, some special recording and I have them on disc and tape.

1. I have all my life, probably starting with The Band's second album.
2. I'm sure there are some, but not a single one comes to mind.
3. Well, I've stopped buying them, but there are probably a few dozen, including the British Beatles albums, Paul Simon-Graceland, Carole King - Tapestry, Rolling Stones - Sticky Fingers, and London Calling-the Clash, the latter only because you gave it to me.
