Lefty's Friday Three Questions for May 23rd

Friday and still another week before the end of the month (a.k.a. payday). Time to search for answers to this week's Three Questions:

1. How high does gas need to get per gallon for you to drastically change how you commute or even vacation?

2. Is there a food your significant other loves but you are largely indifferent to?

3. Do you have any books you plan on reading this summer?

Comments

1. It is nearly to that point, but if...I mean WHEN we get to $5 a gallon I think I will get a monthly bus pass and learn to get around town via FAX (Fresno Area Express).

2. My wife could eat Mexican food 7 days a week and not get tired. I have a once a week limit for Mexican food.

3. Yes, several. First up:

Please Kill Me: The Uncensored Oral History of Punk by Legs Mcneil & Gillian McCain

Other books:
Get Up Off Your Knees: Preaching the U2 Catalog

Anasazi Boys by Neil Gaiman

The Yiddish Policemen's Union by Michael Chabon

The Italian Secretary by Caleb Carr

The Seven Storey Mountain by Thomas Merton

and of course lots of comics.

1. We went on vacation in April because I figured it'd be worse in August. And it will. But I already bike and bus to work.
2. Lots of things, including peanut butter, cauliflower, too many to count.
3. That Hembeck book, available SOON!

1. I think at $5.00 per gallon I would be riding my bike more, taking the bus on some occasions, and just cutting back on driving around.

2. Paula likes peaches, nectarines and tomatoes. I can hardly stand peaches ever since I was a junior higher and I threw up all the contents of my stomach going back to birth, due to the adverse effects of getting drunk on peach schnapps. The other two I am indifferent to.

3. I went to B&N the other day with the $25 gift card. I walked around for about an hour and a half, looking at books on different isles, trying to make a decision regarding what I wanted to get, but nothing peaked my interest. What is wrong with me. AHHHHHHH!

1. I'm a non-driver, so walking and biking are normal for me. Keith and I are riding more places together these days instead of driving.

2. Keith loves gumbo. I'm just kinda eh about it.

3. The stack of books by my bed.

1. it'll have to get really high. not to brag, but my motorcycle gets over 35mpg, so it would still be alright for me @ $5 a gallon. so, i'm thinking $8 a gallon might do it. the problem i have with bus or bicycle is that both add 45 minutes to my commute. i don't really want to have to leave my house an hour before i need to be @ work to show up all sweaty.

2. zwiebach.

3. tons. i get books all the time but don't take the time to read them.

1. I pretty much have my driving to a bare minimum already. I gas up about twice a month. If I can walk somewhere, I do.

2. No significant other.

3. I am thinking about reading the Chronicles of Narnia. I've only read a couple of them.

1. You whiny Yanks, it's the equivalent of $5.85 a gallon in New Zealand right now. You don't know nuttin' about high gas prices! :)

2. Meat

3. Oh geez, the stack by my bed actually turned into an entire bookshelf some time ago. Next on the list is probably a novel, I've been doing nonfiction a lot lately.

Oh yeah, Please Kill Me is great, I read it a couple months ago.

Well...much of Europe is over $8. *Thppppt* :)
