Lefty's Friday Three Questions for June 27th

As some of us wait for Twitter to be fixed (again!), I'd thought I'd take a few minutes and you know actually get around to blogging...or at least three questions. SO here are your three questions for this Friday:

1. If you could pick one album to be redone in a different musical genre, what album would it be and what genre?

2. What is or was your favorite Marvel Comics miniseries?

3. What's the last song you remember floating in your head, and where did you hear it last being played?

As always my answers are in the comments section, where you are invited to leave your answers there as well.

Comments

1. The Who's Tommy redone through the Punk genre.

2. I'm probably missing some great ones, but I'm going with Secret Wars. That gave me geek-gasms when I was a kid.

3. Talk Dirty to Me by Poison. I played it on Guitar Hero III on the Wii on Tuesday, and the song keeps popping into my head.

1. Jesus Christ Superstar as reggae.
2. Avengers-Defenders war; OK, not a real miniseries. Then I'm stuck with Secret Wars.
3. Music constantly in my head. Straight Up by Paula Abdul. I played in in honor of her birthday last week. Shut up.

1. Hey, I really like Roger's idea of Jesus Christ Superstar as reggae. How bout Godspell as reggae, or maybe Godspell as punk. I don't know, I am a sucker for that hippy era, Jesus People, rock opera stuff.

2. I like the one where all these dudes are chained to a bench in a cave and all their lives believe that the shadows they see on the wall before them is reality, and one day one of them is unchained and turns and sees the puppeteers who cast the shadows, and then he leaves the cave and finally sees the Sun, but it blinds him, but he finally adjusts, and eventually he returns to the cave, but his eyes are now adjusted to sunlight and he can't function well. So, everyone in the cave thinks he's nuts. I like that Marvel series. What's that series called?

3. "Outshined" by Soundgarden often pops into my head. Also, that song by Crystal Lewis "People Get Ready" pops into my head. Accept in the twisted permutations of my mind instead of "People get ready, Jesus is coming, soon we'll be going home." I hear, "People get ready, Jesus (pronounced Hay-soos, who is an Hispanic drug dealer) is coming, soon we'll be getting stoned."

Man, I hope God has a sense of humor, or I am in trouble. I mean, my brain just cranks this stuff out and I don't even get the chance to edit it.

Anthony - Something tells me that God is a laugh riot. Godspell as punk; like it. I sang in a production of Godspell in 1975.

1. Never Mind the Bollocks Here's the Sex Pistols as a bluegrass album.

2. God, it's been so long since I've thought about Marvel, that I don't even have a clue...

3. I've been playing the new Emmylou Harris for two weeks now, so I've got different parts of it floating through my brain almost constantly. But, today, while we were at a yard sale at a very traditional and conservative Catholic church, I had "She Left Me For Jesus" by Hayes Carll running through my head. It's one we use as an alarm every so often.
